Alison Miller, an alumna who now works as an IT specialist in the UT Knoxville Graduate School, recently traveled to the Austrian Alps near Innsbruck. She traveled with Tabbatha Cavendish, a UTK graduate student in geology.
"Here I am skiing high in the Austrian Alps near Innsbruck," Miller wrote. "The view of the Alps is like no other!"
Besides Innsbruck, the women visited the towns of Bad Ischl, Melk, Zell am See, and Hallstatt. "In addition to skiing, we shopped, toured museums, and ate a lot of amazing food. I spent more time browsing the hundreds of pastries than actually skiing. We also enjoyed a Smashing Pumpkins concert in Munich before returning stateside. It was lovely country, especially when covered with snow."
Cavendish said her favorite part of the trip was a visit across the border to Munich, Germany, where she toured the Hunting and Fishing Museum.
