Where in the World is Smokey?

New York City Media Tour

Julie Monday is a senior in journalism and electronic media at UT Knoxville.

“This picture was taken in the studios of Good Morning America in New York City,” she said. “More than 20 students from the journalism department went to New York for a week in October 2008 to see how the journalism industry operates in the big city. We visited CNN, Real Simple Magazine, Fox News, Cookie Magazine, Rodale and more. I was on the Martha Stewart show, and I also got to sit in the audience on the Conan O’Brien show!”

“This Good Morning America picture was taken a little before Richard Simmons, the guest on that day’s show, came out to entertain the audience for quite some time before Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer came out,” she said. “Richard Simmons was cool, but Robin Roberts was even cooler, especially because she sang Rocky Top with us!”
