Where in the World is Smokey?

Re-enacting Battles at the Michigan Air Show

Arlene Nitsche of Nashville graduated from UT Knoxville in 1994. She is a stay-at-home mom to two children, ages 6 and 3. Her husband, Robert, is a UPS driver. Robert is not an alumnus. "He claims to be a Vandy fan but this house is orange and white.  And the kids are starting to bleed orange too," Arlene Nitsche wrote.

She sent this photo of Robert wearing his Smokey shirt at the Thunder over Michigan Air Show held Aug. 9-10, 2008. "My husband is a World War II re-enactor and as invited to participate in the WWII re-enactment battles that took place during the air show. He is pictured in front of a WWII 57mm cannon and two Stuart tanks," she said.
