Where in the World is Smokey?

Admiring the Giant Tortoises in the Galapagos Islands

Daniel Shedd is a UT Knoxville sophomore studying chemistry. He is from Mt. Juliet. He spent June 25-Aug. 3, 2008, in the Galapagos Islands.

"This picture is with endemic giant tortoises in the Galapagos Islands," he wrote. "I went to the Galapagos last year for 10 days with a church group, and I really wanted to go back," he said. "I stayed for six weeks this time, and while I was there I taught English-as-a-second-language classes in one of the elementary schools."
