Where in the World is Smokey?

Wandering through Portugal and Spain

Lissa Gay is staff at UT's Center for Transportation Research. Les Gay is a professor in music. Lissa Gay took this photo of their daughter, Margaret, who will enroll at UT for Fall 2009, at the Medieval fortress in Elvas, Portugal.

"The small structure in the left of the image is a postern or watchtower, set in the ramparts that surround the old town," Gay wrote. Gay said they went to Spain and Portugal in October 2007. They visited family in Zafra, Spain, for the baptism of her nephew.
