Bruce Downsbrough is UT's Assistant Vice President, Advancement Services. In October 2007, he and Smokey were at Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tenn.
Downsbrough says this was a "dress rehearsal for the Knoxville Choral Society's 'Broadway Revue' performed at the Playhouse that evening. More specifically, these photos show the Knoxville Chamber Chorale, a small group auditioned from the Choral Society, rehearsing a medley from Les Miserables."

A fine example of musicianship. Smokey may have a second calling we were unsure of. Thanks for showing us his hidden talents, Bruce!!

From the enthusiastic audience we thought the show was great, as we had anticipated: Top programming, entertaining book, variety of good soloists, wonderful choral diction with contagious joy and energy, plus workhorse Danny! I wish the show could be reprised and I could join you.
